1st prize

1st prize

Here I just want to show what kind of prize sponsored by www.carikomputer.com in Minda Catur Saturday Night Fever. 2 days ago the prize is a Multimedia Headset with Microphone HMV889 (worth RM65).

Only 1st prize is provided in this mini tournament in materials not in form of cash money. This is the tradition of this tournament. The 1st prize varied depends on the sponsor and the fees. The last 3 previous tournament, the 1st prizes are kingston thumbdrive 512MB, Multimedia Headset HMV889 and T-shirt.

The list of the previous 1st prize winners are: Fairin Zakaria, Tun Sri Lanang, Mohd Saprin Sabri, Samsol Bahrain and Shamsuddin.

Note: I forgot to bring my digital camera on that night, there for there's no picture for the latest tournament.

MINDA CATUR Saturday Night Fever

Last night we have mini blitz tournament or famously known as MINDA CATUR SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER (like the previous post in this blog) . Due to a communication break down, 7 chess players come and only 4 of them take part. The participants are Mohd Saprin, Shamsuddin, Zamri and Safri. 3 of the kibitzers are Zulkifli, Mohd Hafez and Wong Kim Soon.

We decided to play 15minutes blitz double round robin. There for we have more quality for the games. After every games end, there will be followed by a discussion. Finally the tournament end at 1.30am and won by Shamsuddin with 5/6 points with 5 wins and a lost to Mohd Saprin.

The prize for this tournament sponsored by carikomputer.com. It's a Multimedia Headset with Microphone HMV889 (worth RM65).

Date: 5.8.2006 (Saturday)
Time: 10pm - 1.30am

What do all of us think about this position? Some may call it wild, others could think it's just a dumbass and lousy one.
Maybe we could spare a little time to check "How white to move and win ". Enjoy !!!

Readers are welcome to comment on this game and please do not hesitate to include variations and subvariations (branching ) in your response.I will include it on next post.Take my words.
You may seek help from your loyal 'fritzy' and 'shredder' assistance. I won't call arbiter to penalise you. Go ahead. Enjoy!!

Interesting position

suggest White spectacular move that led to zugzwang-like position for Black.
White to move and win.
Enjoy.
